Advancing Baby Boomers

Those born between 1946 and 1964 are classified as baby boomers of which about 10,000 a day are heading into retirement. Boomers believed the world would improve with time and being the wealthiest, most active, and most physically fit generation up to that time avoided long-term planning for their golden years. With many not having an adequate pension plan and having to live off of small fixed incomes makes it difficult to obtain the additional necessities needed, such as medical supplies and mobility aids needed by the mature citizens.

There are many civil and public organizations out there to provide services for the ageing population with their needs. Unfortunately, it is difficult in locating many of these resources easily, many of which are subsidized, for the elderly that are not so computer literate. WebStamp has heard from several readers needing somewhere where they can obtaining those resources that are available for boomers in need. That is why WebStamp is going to develop a senior’s community for those active Calgarians over 55. We will create a community where seniors can find what they need in Calgary, whether it be health services, companionship, transportation or housing.

Hearing that there is a lot of seniors being abused and taken advantage of, and concerns about nowhere to really voice their concerns WebStamp will be creating that voice allowing mature individuals and their siblings to easily speak up and make a difference in the way they are treated. Seniors have a lot to offer to the local community and there is a lot of great things we can learn and enjoy from their experiences.

Let us not forget about the active baby boomers. Those aged 55 to 70+ are still very energetic seniors and have lots of living to do and enjoy. As we age sarcopenia, the muscle deterioration that comes with aging and helps with bone mass, begins to affect us all. Regular participation in physical activity as we mature insures that we are in better health and can live life with less complications.

Our senior’s community will have a senior chat room along with information on Calgary activities and events for seniors to enjoy and become part of. WebStamp is here to connect Calgarians with their communities and seniors are as much as a part of that. Seniors Unite! The Baby Boomer Revolution isn’t over yet. Let WebStamp be your voice.
