Futuristic Tree Sculptures on Stephan Ave

As you stroll down Stephan Ave. you can’t miss the majestic Galleria Trees located between 2^nd St. and 3^rd Ave. After the completion of the second Bankers Hall building, it was decided to erect 10 engineered stylized tree sculptures to help reduce downtown city wind gusts between buildings. The sculptures are equipped with an audio system and a recently added efficient state-of-the-art LED lighting system operating regularly with seasonally themed programming.

The lighting system on the trees adds to the atmosphere to the seasons, special events, and occasions to the Downtown Core. Seasonally played music along with special music events sponsored by the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Calgary International Film Festival, and Honens radiate from the imposing modern trees. The iconic Galleria Trees sculptures were donated by Trizec Hahn Office Properties to the City of Calgary in 2000.
