The final numbers have finally come to light with the games to cost $5.1 Billion. The public contribution is a follows; the Government of Canada is contributing $1.45 billion, the Province of Alberta committed $700 million, the City of Calgary would have to subsidize $390 million and include $150 million credit for previous financial commitment to improve a downtown district into the Games hub, and finally the Town of Canmore to supply $3 million. The remainder of the investment would come from private funding of $2.23 billion generated from games revenues that includes a $1.2-billion contribution from the International Olympic Committee.
