The Curbing Climate Change Resolution

We are all aware of the effects of Climate Change that is causing the current increasing extreme weather conditions. These ever-changing erratic weather patterns will affect the way we live and work in the very near future. It is already affecting our food supply chain that depends on the current predictable weather patterns. WebStamp is encouraging all to make A M.A.D. New Year’s Resolution to Make A Difference to our approach to solving Climate Change. There are many simple ways one can have an effect on Climate Change. We all can do our part reducing our Ecological Footprint with recycling, reducing our energy consumption, and buying more local fresh products and less processed foods. What is needed now is the rapid development of a Sustainable Circular Economy to preserve our way of life.

Recycling has gone astray. Everyone is recycling without sources for the recycled material to go. The push to the development of local businesses creating products from as many collected recycled materials for local consumption is needed. This would help reduce pollution, create local jobs, and boost the local economy. Begin by supporting your local recycling companies and campaigns towards developing a Zero-Waste environment. Buy only sustainably produced products with environmentally friendly packaging.

Calgary’s economy has been affected by the global movement to reducing the consumption of fossil fuels in favour of using more renewable eco-friendly sources of energy like electricity produced from the sun and wind. It will take a decade or two before a reduction of using oil and gas will have a notable effect on the economy. New technologies have been developed to capture the carbon from the burning of fossil fuels almost eliminating the emission of greenhouse gasses.

There are many new businesses geared towards using captured carbon from fossil fuel consumption that is producing a variety of products from Vodka, bioplastics, building materials, to strong and lightweight carbon fibre car parts. The government needs to be encouraged towards promoting more industries that not only are economically viable but also helps combat Climate Change.

The XPRIZE organization, an organization that creates incentive competitions to solve the world’s problems, launched the $20M (USD) NRG COSIA Carbon XPRIZE Competition. This global competition encourages many bright minds around the globe to present their technologies that convert CO₂ emissions into valuable everyday products like building materials and alternative fuels. The XPRIZE competition is going to be held in Calgary in June of 2020 with a local Calgary company as a competitor.

Become part of the revolution to clean up the mess we have created that is devastatingly changing the climate on the only world we live in. Drastic action is needed to preserve our environment and lifestyle before its too late. Make your M.A.D. Move and Make A Difference to curb climate change. The more people working together on a goal helps make it a reality. Make that Resolution to Curb Climate Change a reality and encourage others to do the same.
