Become Part of the Celebrations

With Canada celebrating its 150th birthday this year there are a lot of activities throughout the year where you can be part of a once in a lifetime opportunity. The Sesquicentennial is not only an occasion to celebrate, but it also is an opportunity for us to invest in our communities, in ourselves, and our country. With the Sesquicentennial, we can celebrate Canada’s diversity and strengthen the bonds within our local and ethnic communities.

Getting fellow Canadians involved by contributing with gifts and community participation is the theme for the sesquicentennial

Bringing communities together within the great community of Canada is the way we can invest in the future of our great country and ensure that we will continue to be a great nation.

What do you as a Canadian hope or wish for our country? Now you can make a difference along with your fellow Calgarians to improving our communities, our cities, and our country. It was great to see the country getting together to show who we are, but we shouldn’t have a tragic event, such as the Quebec Mosque shooting to bring unity to our nation.

We can continue to show the world what Canada is all about by contributing continuously to our neighbours and country with ideas, items, and/or time in improving the way we live, as a person, a community, and a nation.

What you contribute is up to you. It could be anything from showing acts of kindness, volunteering to charity fund-raising events or organizations, supporting a cause, or to help build iconic structures How do you plan to contribute? Tell us what you have planned, so we inspire others to give back to Canada.
