A M.A.D. CHRISTMAS

It’s that time of the year that the world celebrates Christmas. The end of the year festivity steeped deep in traditions based on many religious and pagan myths and beliefs. The majority celebrate this holiday season based on Christian principles and the birth of the world’s saviour Jesus Christ. Christmas traditions are now a celebration for all to enjoy. Since mass production manufacturing, commercialism has dominated the yuletide cheer. It’s all about buying to celebrate Christmas.

This year celebrate the holidays as they were intended, Peace on Earth and Goodwill Towards Men/Women/Either (gender neutral enough?). Many yuletide traditions are based on celebrating a prosperous year and helping friends and neighbours who are less fortunate.

Have a M.A.D. Christmas and Make A Difference providing others with a terrific holiday season. Buy less, socialize more and participate in providing kindness to all. Enjoy giving the Joy of Christmas.

Instead of buying smaller gifts for everyone, do a secret Santa gifting by having family members draw names to select who buys a gift for whom. Set a limit to how much everyone spends on each gift. For that someone special you still can always buy that extra special gift. Only buying 2 or 3 gifts reduces stress and saves the pocketbook.

With all the time saved not having to spend on shopping for all those gifts, you can put that to good use by spreading cheer, making homemade gifts and baking, or lend a helping hand. Go out carolling, help a neighbour, volunteer helping the less fortunate, or donate to a charity or non-profit organization.
