Calgary, Our Great City

Calgary is still a wonderfully vibrant city that offers lots to its residents. With the downturn in the energy sector, Calgary has dropped down to nineteenth place as the best places to live in 2015 from second in Canada. In 2013 we were rated as second and most of the decline has to do with the dropping economy and the downturn in the Calgary energy sector. There are a lot of other activities that the Calgary economy supports including financial services, film and television, transportation and logistics, technology, manufacturing, aerospace, health and wellness, retail, and the tourism sectors. By supporting the local business community we as Calgarians can help the local economy and re-establish our ratings to where they should be.

Calgary is still a wonderful place to live and has a wide variety of activities and events to participate in. Finding everything that is going on can be quite the task at times considering there are pages of search listings of things to do. WebStamp is looking to organizing all this information and presenting, and providing links to the best sites, so you only have to go to one place, WebStamp, to discover and participate in all that Calgary has to offer.

WebStamp is here to help Calgarians and local commerce connect with the local communities to help stimulate the local economy. If Calgary develops a stable local economy we would not be so dependent on outside sources and economic downturns would not affect Calgarians as much. Sourcing your needs from local businesses would also help with reducing fees including transportation and logistics costs, and keep local people employed so they have more to spend to further stimulate the economy.

Even with the downturned economy, there is a lot of new goings-on that will stimulate our local economy. The East Village revitalization is going to be a big part of bringing back Calgary’s economy. With the restoration of the King Eddy, a long-time former favourite blues venue, integrated with the National Music Centre (NMC) music lovers will have lots to partake in. The NMC is a national catalyst for discovery, innovation and renewal through music.

The coming of the new public library and the redevelopment of Eau Claire market, a new supermarket, new condo developments in the East Village are some of the things that will help revitalize our economy.

The birthplace of Calgary is currently undergoing a much needed urban revitalization. Several of the old historic buildings, some with shady and colourful pasts, have been saved from demolition by incorporating them into the overall design.
We have seen time after time that after a disaster in communities, and even cities, provinces, and the whole country comes together and provide aid and support in the event of a disaster. WebStamp would like to recognize and thank all the people who went above and beyond in some way to assist in the effort to help.
Local businesses would greatly benefit from and would help stabilize the local economy, especially the local community businesses, with working with each other instead of against each other.
